Rachael’s Bio

Rachael Crawford Goolsby is honored to be among the community of Certified Anusara Yoga Teachers. She is a devoted student of John Friend, the founder of Anusara Yoga. Rachael began a regular practice of hatha yoga at age 16.

Rachael started teaching as a way of sharing this gift at age 19, but really began to blaze her path of a teacher when she attended Virginia Commonwealth University as a Dance & Choreography major, as a way of balancing her physical/emotional/spiritual life. Her practice has morphed through several styles, including Kripalu, Bikram, Ashtanga, & Vinyasa, and finally into Anusara Yoga, since 2002. Rachael enjoys working with all levels of ability & desire of students and encourages them to seek the path of their hearts.

Rachael is a North Carolina Licensed Massage Therapist, with certification as a Thai Massage Teacher, from Chongkol Settakorn from the ITM in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

She dances locally with the Dance Cooperative.

Rachael’s favorite yoga related books include:

Ramayana, Translated by William Bruck
Autobiography of a Yogi, Paramhansa Yogananda
Light on Yoga, B.K.S. Iyengar
